With more than 3,200 members, the Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA) is the largest network organization for mechanical engineering in Europe. The association represents the common economic, technological and scientific interests of this diverse industry.

VDMA was founded in November 1892 and is the most important voice for the mechanical engineering industry today. It represents the issues of the mechanical and plant engineering sector in Germany and Europe. It successfully accompanies its members in global markets. Its technical expertise, industry knowledge and straightforward positioning make it a recognized and valued point of contact for companies as well as the general public, science, administration and policy makers.


 

Industry Association for Food Technology and Packaging (IVLV)

Together, we focus our research on the entire value chain for safely packaged foods of high and long-lasting quality. In addition to the membership and grant contributions from industry, we are acquiring about 3 million € of public funding annually.


EIT Food is Europe’s leading food innovation initiative, working to make the food system more sustainable, healthy and trusted. The initiative is made up of a consortium of key industry players, startups, research centres and universities from across Europe. It is one of eight Innovation Communities established by the European Institute for Innovation & Technology (EIT), an independent EU body set up in 2008 to drive innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe.


 

CEFLEX is a collaborative initiative of a European consortium of companies and associations representing the entire value chain of flexible packaging. The initiative will enhance the performance of flexible packaging in the circular economy by designing & advancing better system solutions identified through the collaboration of companies representing the entire value chain

The Packaging Excellence Center (PEC) as a competence center for packaging and automation technology provides an interface between members from industry, science and politics. Here, the world market leader in the field of packaging machines, family businesses and suppliers, universities and specialized engineering service providers have brought together players from all sectors. These pursue the common goal of developing new technological solutions and, with their respective expertise, to draw attention to the unique concentration in the Stuttgart region and beyond.
